We are closed on weekends and all major holidays.
We see patients at two locations: Houston Heights and The Woodlands.
Our Practitioners have extensive education and training in the fields of medication management and basic psychotherapy. Specialties include:
Major Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Post-Partum Disorders, Trauma-Related Disorders, Executive Functioning Challenges, Educational Struggles, and Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorders.
Our Educational Specialist offers comprehensive educational evaluations, including assessments for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences. Cognitive domains—such as attention, memory, and processing—can be evaluated starting around age 2.5, which helps us identify developmental concerns early and provide appropriate recommendations.
However, when it comes to assessing specific learning disabilities like dyslexia, it’s important to remember that we can only evaluate a child in academic areas they’ve had formal instruction in. For example, a diagnosis of dyslexia isn’t appropriate until a child has received explicit reading instruction.
She also provides cognitive, ADHD, and autism assessments for adults.
No, we do not accept insurance, but you can request a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance.
A superbill is an itemized list of all the services provided to you during your appointment. This is important, because many insurances offer “out-of-network” benefits… meaning your insurance company will reimburse you for a portion of the money you spend on services with us. Reimbursement differs from person to person depending on your individual plan.
You can request a Superbill via the patient portal or Spruce. Please note, it may take up to 7 business days to receive your copy.
Yes. If you choose to use your HSA, you will be given a receipt on the day of services. This can be written off on your taxes later as a qualifying medical expense. Tax write offs are the best.
Debit/Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). As a preferred client at RPP, you will be required to keep a card of your choosing on file. This is the standard procedure in most practices. Your card is used to pay for your services at the time of treatment and can be changed at any time. We do not accept cash or checks.
Renewed Perspectives Psychiatry specializes in children. We provide educational services for all ages and medication services for ages 6 and up. We love the kids we see, and they require specialized care for their development and safety purposes if they need to receive medication management.
Yes, we see patients of all ages
Telehealth services are available via secure video for established patients who live within the state of Texas but still require at least a yearly in person visit. All new clients are required to be seen in person for their first appointment.
We require in person visits to meet state and federal laws and to obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height. If you are being seen virtually, please provide an updated blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height at the time of appointment.
Controlled substances are prescribed in moderation and on a case-by-case basis only; restrictions apply.
We do not accept new patients seeking ADHD treatment with stimulants, but we're happy to provide names of local psychiatrists who may be able to help.
For current patients to receive stimulant medication, the following are required:
An official ADHD assessment
Medication appointments every 3 months
A urine drug screen at least once a year — though this may be required more frequently, at the provider's discretion
Prescriptions will not be refilled if these requirements are not met, and 90-day supplies cannot be sent in, even through mail-order pharmacies.
Per Texas law, stimulant prescriptions must be sent in by a supervising psychiatrist affiliated with our practice.
We operate within the laws and regulations set by the federal government, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Texas Board of Medicine, and the Texas Board of Nursing.
Simply click the “Schedule Your Appointment” at the top of the screen and complete the information section. Once submitted, one of our staff will contact you within 2 business days to schedule your appointment. You can also call our office at 832-662-7934 to schedule your appointment.
Did you lock your keys in the car? Was traffic a nightmare today? Family emergency? We get it. Life happens. Fortunately, we allow a 10-minute grace period for all appointments. Be aware that individuals arriving after the grace period will be asked to reschedule their appointment and will incur a no-show fee that will need to be addressed prior to rescheduling the appointment. This is in consideration for the person whose appointment comes after you. We also want to make sure you receive the best possible care, and we feel that any appointment under 10 minutes doesn’t provide that.
You will be charged the full appointment fee if you do not cancel within 48 hours of your appointment. This fee must be paid before you are able to reschedule your next appointment or receive medication refills. We have many people waiting for an appointment spot to open. If we know ahead of time you are not going to be able to make your appointment, someone else may be able to receive the care they need today. Moral of the story: always cancel if you can’t be here.
All patients are subject to urine drug screening on admission and intermittently afterwards, depending on your plan of care. Our Practitioners reserve the right to issue random drugs screens as well, to ensure medication compliance. Urine drug screens are required to receive controlled substances.
*You must pass the drug screen or have active prescriptions / medical marijuana card justifying the content your drug screens to receive a prescription for controlled substances.
